Introducing the 2017 Kia Niro. The hybrid-utility SUV is Kia's newest eco-friendly vehicle to join the likes of the Soul EV, Optima Hybrid and the soon-to-arrive Optima Plug-in Hybrid. For the first time, however, the South Korean automaker is combining the love for the crossover-style with outstanding mpg and hybrid efficiency.
"The Niro hits the sweet spot by offering the best combination of outstanding mpg, an engaging experience, utility, and most importantly, a stunning design that doesn't shout "hybrid,"" notes Orth Hedrick, Vice President of Product Planning on the Kia website. The Niro is fitted with a 1.6-liter direct-injection four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine coupled with a 43-horsepower electric motor. Kia is projecting 50 mpg EPA combined.
Since Kia is planning on nearly tripling its green car lineup by 2020, the Niro will arrive in our showroom no later than early next year. In the meantime, explore our current online inventory to see if we having any Kia models that peak your interest.
